A Message for Warrior Women - Part 2

by Shanti Cousens

“A warrior of light needs both patience and speed. The two worst strategic mistakes tomake are: acting prematurely and letting an opportunity slip; to avoid this, the warrior treats each situation as if it were unique and never resorts to formulae, recipes or other people's opinions.” ~Paulo Coelho

The Warrior treats each situation as if it were unique by listening to intuition, the little voice that lets us know how to listen and how to flow. The Warrior Woman knows the importance of intuition and uses instinct as she continues to listen to the wind and stars.

Warrior-ship. “Here the word “warrior” is taken from the Tibetan “pawo,” which literally means, “one who is brave.” ~Chogyam Trungpa

Tree Fern

I am a tree Fern

I am new life
Reaching high to embrace the light

I am Courage
The promise bound within the seed

I am knowledge
Birthing love from understanding

I am woman
Speaking to woman and to man

I am Mamaku (Tree Fern)

~Barry Brailsford
Wisdom of the Four Winds

In the poem, Tree Fern, the message speaks to us of diversity, elegance, and beauty. And here we are together, drawing on each other’s strengths and unity in our own lives more than ever before.

The Gifts
Barry Brailsford, 1999, Wisdom of the Four Winds,

Mamaku (Tree Fern), graceful child of the forest, comes to you to speak of light and balance, of the potential held within and its place in the dream. Deep down we know the truth of our journey. No matter how much overburden hides it from the light, the essential truth is safe. Yet, until the pain of many yesterdays, and the hurts of today are healed by forgiveness, anger sometimes shrouds the way ahead and cloaks all that we might be. Standing strongly in the wonder of the East Wind to greet the sunrise, you have the opportunity to make a new beginning. You can now face the past, call forth your pain and set it free, and move on to find joy in your journey. As you go into this healing, look beyond the East Wind to the South Wind, to the place of the child. That direction offers you the magic of the heart, the willingness to touch and be touched. What we cannot feel we cannot heal. Opening to that path is of your learning. Mamaku reminds us we are creatures of beauty walking in a beautiful world. All is potential, joy awaiting the call of the light. All is elegance set within design. All is opportunity within the balance. Hope is the message of Mamaku, the hope enshrined in the koru, the unfolding frond. We all have limitless promise for we are each part of a greater perfection. It is the time of the unfolding, the time to bring your truth into the Light.

Into the Light of Yoga

As we discussed last time, Kali Ray Tri Yoga® is a discipline that can be practiced daily. By doing so, we are given the ability to activate the energy in our bodies and to strengthen the mind for meditation.

Here’s another perspective on exercise. Have you ever taken a martial arts class? Just recently I have been learning Kenpo Karate self-defense. This martial art form gives you confidence in being able to take care of yourself if the need should arise. It is a great workout leaving you with the feeling of empowerment! It’s also helpful in expanding your awareness in being more alert wherever you go in a crazy world. Taking Zumba dance aerobic classes is also fun and definitely leaves me feeling alive. Move! Even if you have a sitting desk job; get up every couple of hours.

Shamanic Astrology

The new moon is Sunday, August 29, and is in Virgo. This is a great time for new beginnings in projects and travel. Each month, I receive a daily planetary overview from a Shamanic Astrologer, Cayeline K. Castell. For more info and amazing insights into the flow of the planetary cycles, visit www.shamanicastrology.com.

Shoulder Stands and Head Stands:

These poses increase the flow of energy; heal the body; relax the mind; and taking time to turn upside down in Shoulder Stand and Headstand gives a different perspective on life.

Aroma Oil

Helichyrsum: Helichrysum regenerates tissues and organs by detoxifying them from use of medicinal and recreational drugs. Helichrysum also balances the emotions and relieves depression and shock from the body. This oil is useful for meditation and mental clarity. It is also good for the skin by rejuvenating the cells. Use 2 drops of oil in face cream. If you have sensitive skin, dilute it with jojoba oil and apply 5 drops.

“For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.” ~Audrey Hepburn

"An ordinary person seeks freedom through enlightenment. An enlightened man expresses freedom through being ordinary." -Adyashanti

You are the Warrior Woman you have been looking for by expressing your uniqueness.
